A small radio galaxy at z = 4.026

چکیده

Less than 200 radio-loud active galactic nuclei are known above redshift 4. Around 40 of them have been observed at milliarcsecond (mas) scale resolution with very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) technique. Some unresolved, compact, relativistically beamed objects, and blazars jets pointing small angles to the observer's line sight. But there also objects no sign relativistic beaming possibly having larger jet inclination angles. In a couple cases, X-ray observations indicate presence contrary VLBI measurements made European Network. J1420+1205 is prominent example, where our 30–100 mas-scale enhanced multi element remotely linked interferometer network radio revealed rich structure reminiscent galaxy. It shows bright hotspot that might be related denser interstellar medium around young galaxy an early cosmological epoch.

Radio Galaxy Clustering at z ∼ 0.3

Radio galaxies are uniquely useful as probes of large-scale structure as their uniform identification with giant elliptical galaxies out to high redshift means that the evolution of their bias factor can be predicted. As the initial stage in a project to study large-scale structure with radio galaxies we have performed a small redshift survey, selecting 29 radio galaxies in the range 0.19 < z <...

The radio galaxy 1138−262 at z=2.2: a giant elliptical galaxy at the center of a proto-cluster?

We present a detailed observational study of a remarkable radio galaxy at a redshift of z = 2.2: 1138-262. This objectwas selected fromour compendiumof ultra steep spectrum radio sources on the basis of its distorted radio morphology. High resolution VLA radio observations show that the radio source consists of a series of knots and jet-like protrusions, with a sharp bend, strongly suggesting t...

The discovery of a typical radio galaxy at z = 4 . 88

In this letter we report the discovery of a z = 4.88 radio galaxy discovered with a new technique which does not rely on pre-selection of a sample based on radio properties such as steep-spectral index or small angular size. This radio galaxy was discovered in the Elais-N2 field and has a spectral index of α = 0.75, i.e. not ultra-steep spectrum. It also has a luminosity consistent with being d...

CO line emission in the halo of a radio galaxy at z = 2 . 6 ⋆

We report the detection of luminous CO(3–2) line emission in the halo of the z=2.6 radio galaxy (HzRG) TXS0828+193, which has no detected counterpart at optical to mid-infrared wavelengths implying a stellar mass . few×10 M⊙ and relatively low star-formation rates. With the IRAM PdBI we find two CO emission line components at the same position at ∼80 kpc distance from the HzRG along the axis of...

Camera imaging of a young compact radio galaxy at z = 2 . 390

We present deep 63-orbit HST/PC images at ∼0 .06 FWHM resolution in the filters B450 , V606 & I814 — as well as in redshifted Lyα — of the radio source LBDS 53W002, a compact narrow-line galaxy at z=2.390. These images allow us to distinguish several morphological components: (1) an unresolved nuclear point source (< ∼ 500 pc at z=2.390 for H0 =75, q0 =0), likely the central AGN which contains ...
